Your capital.
Our responsibility.
Independent thinking. Clear explanations.
Direct access to the person managing your portfolio.
Stewardship is
a daily practice.

Know the person.
An account balance does not tell the whole story. We want to understand your family, your goals, your need for income and your capacity to take risk before deciding how a portfolio should be managed.
Make it understandable.
You should know what you own, why you own it and what you pay. We explain the investment case, costs and risks in plain terms, and make room for your questions.
Own the decision.
Research guides our decisions; responsibility remains with us. We revisit assumptions, act when the evidence changes and explain the reasoning behind what we do.
Based in Charleston,
South Carolina.
Independent ownership keeps responsibility for the firm close to the investment work.
Independence you can see.
As a fiduciary investment adviser, we put your interests first. That commitment should show up in how we are paid, how we invest and who answers your questions.
- Paid by our clients.
- Our compensation comes from the clients we serve, without product commissions or sales compensation. Our advisory fee is disclosed; underlying investment costs may also apply.
- Research done here.
- We study businesses and develop mathematical and statistical models in-house. Macroeconomic perspective, fundamental research, quantitative analysis and technical analysis inform one considered view.
- Direct access to Matthew.
- The person explaining your portfolio is the person responsible for managing it. Your questions reach the work directly, without layers between the relationship and the investment decisions.
Your assets stay in your name.
Your investments are held in your own account at a qualified custodian. DeltaX manages the portfolio on your behalf and does not impose contractual lockups or surrender charges.

Matthew Schaller
Founder and Chief Investment OfficerTwo moments that shaped the firm.
The first came when Matthew’s mother asked him to review her retirement savings. She could not explain what she owned, why she owned it or what she was paying. That experience shaped a simple standard: clients should understand their investments and their costs.
The second was the birth of his son. Matthew wanted to build something of his own, guided by the integrity he hoped his son would see in him.
Grounded in Christian faith, his approach to stewardship calls for diligence, integrity and honest explanations. Those convictions should be visible in the way he works.
A longtime South Carolinian, Matthew lives in the Charleston area with his wife and son.
Mathematics
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Clemson University, with a concentration in actuarial and financial mathematics.
Service
U.S. Army National Guard. Discipline and responsibility remain part of the way he approaches his work.
Business
Before founding DeltaX, Matthew spent years helping businesses grow and serve their customers.
